THREE DAYS OF LIFE

53

By Ana Louis

YESTERDAY

A time of growing

experiencing things not yet sampled

days of war within and without

longing...dreaming...hoping...just living

discovering that getting is not as good as giving

writing my story in memories.

TODAY

Where I am

looking back and looking forward

watching for signs

jaded...too wise...too innocent...

moving toward the exit

Wondering what waits

Can my heart bear more?

TOMORROW

There are no memories

So

It waits like an expectant mother waits for her child

Life is so unpredictable you just have to take it one piece at a time, thanks for sharing

I don't know how your hubs slipped past me. These poems are wonderful. I love the tomorrow simile and the "giving is better than getting"...hold off on that "moving toward the exit" stuff, we have promises to keep and miles to go before we sleep...we must listen to Frost's horse, he knows. =:)

Thank you abradford for stopping by and commenting. Time is a funny thing and really all that matters in today. We can't change yesterday; and although we don't know what tomorrow might hold for us - what we do today creates a ripple in events that often reach into our tomorrows.

Hi Winsome. Glad you liked the poem. Don't worry, I am not planning an exit any time soon. So true - promises to keep, miles to go, but I sure could use a nap.

Don't worry about missing the hubs. I am having a creative orgy and words are seeping out all over the place...paper every where, dishes piled in the sink, my husband thinks I am having an affair(just kidding), and I have stopped answering my phone. "I just vant to be alone" ( you have to imagine the accent). I just hope when this burst of light fades I will be able to piece together the chaos and come up with something more to publish...and my keys are sticking on my laptop. Sorry. I got a little carried away.

Ha ha, I just had to laugh at the miles to go before I sleep, but I sure could use a nap. Wonderful. =:)

Hi again epigramman. You are so kind. I am glad you like this poem, and I think it is awsome that you say "I write like a painter paints." That is what writing is to me - painting with words.

Thanks for stopping by.
