I COULD HAVE BEEN GREAT...
46I could have been great...
Had I been born in another time.
I could have been great...
Had my parents not been mine.
I could have been great...
Had I served another god.
I could have been great...
Had I been given another bod.
I could have been great...
Had I lived in other places.
I could have been great...
Had I known other faces.
I could have been great...
Had I attended an ivy league school.
I could have been great...
Had I not thought marriage was cool.
I could have been great...
Had I not children bore.
I could have been great...
Had my time not been a chore.
I could have been great...
Had I been given the opportunity.
I could have been great...
Had I just chosen immunity.
I could have been great...
Had I been much stronger.
i could have been great...
Had I lived just a little longer.
There are always excuses for the things that never get done, dreams that never come true, and lives that did not turn out the way we imagined; yet...every day arrives with a new opportunity to be more than we were yesterday.
Life is the first gift, love is the second, and understanding the third. Marge Pearcy

We are always where God want us to be. The 'could haves' and 'would haves' are the devils way of making us feel unfulfilled and depressed.
Live the best way you can TODAY, and there'll be no regrets.
Great advice. We need to be more proactive instead of reactive in our life's. At least I know I do.
We can't change the past, or the present, but the future is all ours. Put the plans in place and the dreams can come true. This is an excellent, well written poem. More please.
I love this. It's the list that we all say to ourselves before we leave the house for work. Hopefully, the list does not follow us around all day. We'd all be doomed.
Ana Louis,
Greetings from MAKUSR. That's a nice reminder that we all are unique in our own way. Remember,
Fault lies in us and not in our stars that we are underlings.
Lots of Love,
MAKUSR
Our friends have chickens and I had one of their eggs last night. It was free and free range.
Each day we have many opportunities to choose love over fear. There are lots of "valid" reasons to let fear dictate our lives, but we always have options! With a little courage and support, we can look our fears in the face and say "yes" to love.
You have quite a way with words - deceptively simple but calling forth deep thinking. Nicely done.

I visited a friend of mine who has cancer this week and came away feeling so blessed. One comment he made was "Live each day to the full and enjoy life. Each day is a new adventure and we must make the most of those, we are not promised another.
